14 września 2004 roku ukazał się trzeci album studyjny Flogging Molly, zatytułowany Within A Mile Of Home. Płyta, mimo iż zachowana była w stylu dwóch poprzednich albumów, ukazywała ewolucję zespołu, o czym świadczyć mogły bardziej rozbudowane, wielowątkowe kompozycje (Tobacco Island czy łączące się dwa utwory The Spoken Wheel i With A Wonder And The Wild Desire) które zdecydowanie wyróżniały się na tle szybkich i utrzymanych w starym stylu piosenek takich jak otwierający płytę Screaming At The Wailing Wall czy Seven Deadly Sins.
